The Environment
At Dominion we recognise our responsibility to look after the environment and through our registration with the Eco-Active Business Scheme in Jersey, we aim to put in place an action plan which will allow us to minimise the impact of our activities and lower our carbon footprint.
The scheme’s initiatives will focus on four main areas:
Energy
This will involve an energy audit of all our buildings, facilities and equipment as well as encouraging good practice such as turning off lights and equipment after use.
Waste
Recycling - to include the placement of centralised bins, along with arranging special collections for cardboard, glass and toners.
Reduction – to include reducing the amount of paper we use and printing double-sided where possible.
Water
We aim to monitor our consumption and check for leaks, encourage good practice and install water efficient devices in the washrooms.
Procurement
We aim to purchase eco friendly equipment and use stationery from sustainable sources or recycled materials.
There are two other areas where we are already actively working:
Biodiversity
We already have plants within our office environment and in our outside spaces.
Transport
We already limit business travel to essential travel and for employee commuting, we encourage staff to either use public transport or cycle instead of using their cars (facilities such as bike racks and showers are provided on the premises).
