In the current climate, charities in our local community have found it increasingly difficult to maintain the level of support they have previously enjoyed. What happens in our community directly affects our employees and we are committed to supporting these organisations through company sponsorship and individual fundraising efforts.
The local charity we choose to support in Jersey is Jersey Hospice Care; a facility that receives no funding from the States of Jersey and relies entirely on the generosity of the local community and businesses to raise the £6,000 a day that is needed to keep it running on a daily basis.
We support the charity regularly throughout the year with sponsorship of events such as the annual Jersey Hospice Golf Tournament held at the Royal Jersey Golf Club.
On Friday 14th October 2011, Dominion sponsored the 6th Annual Jersey Hospice Golf Day at the Royal Jersey Golf Club. Fine weather and bacon rolls greeted the 88 competitors. Following the round of golf, a three course lunch was provided and an auction also took place raising valuble funds for the worthy cause. The event was a huge success raising £11,301.00 for Jersey Hospice.
As a result of their ongoing fundraising efforts surrounding the Three Peaks Challenge, a total of over £11,000 has been raised for Headway Jersey and the Jersey Alzheimer’s Association.
Both charities are extremely grateful to the Dominion team for their hard work and fundraising efforts.
